About the collection:

“Are we the stories we tell ourselves? And what if those stories change, do we change too?”

This question forms the crux of this collection of paintings called "Birthing Another Self’. How do you embark on an adventure when you are not able to leave home? How do you explore when you fear you will never return? How do you learn to fly when the pain of separation is too much to bear? This journey forced me on a path where I encountered my fears, found their inherited source, learned to master my inner demons, understand them; then look in the mirror to accept the many shades within. The journey was difficult, often treacherous and not without drama and thrills, but a necessary one to find a home inside, an endless expanse that endures through all the twists and turns… a home I could take with me wherever I roamed… a place of freedom, curiosity and refuge.
